Inspired by my explorations in Iceland in 2012: lava and wool. Having taken all necessary tools, inks, paper, and copper plate with me, I made this piece entirely on site in Reykjavik, after my first week in Iceland. One exhibit in particular at the National Museum of Iceland, a late 19th-century wool loom that incorporated lava rocks as weights, inspired this print, which I editioned at the Icelandic Printmakers Association.
Printed as an edition of 11 and printed using Charbonnel's Warm Sienna ink on Garzapapel paper. Image is 11 x 14.7 cm/4.25 x 5.75 inches.
